From our 2019 Event….

The Taste of the Market A Farm to Table Dinner Experience presented by Piggly Wiggly will deliver a sensational locally-sourced meal in the middle of Downtown Orangeburg’s Historic District on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Proceeds will support the Downtown Orangeburg Farmers Market. The meal itself will be a full four-course dinner, prepared by a Dupre Catering. Farm-to-table dinners have often taken place on the farm in an intimated field or orchard setting, but we have developed ours into a larger community event to shine a spotlight on our local farmers.

Aside from providing a historic dining experience in the heart of Downtown Orangeburg, the farm-to-table dinner will raise operating capital for the Downtown Orangeburg Farmers’ Market and showcase the markets’ location in the heart of Historic Downtown Orangeburg.

We feel like this event will not only deliver a sensational meal in our historic district, but also give attendees a chance to see and learn firsthand how farmers capitalize on one of Orangeburg County’s number one industries: agriculture! Orangeburg is literally surrounded by fields brimming with agricultural bounty.

The event will be located on the 1300 block on Russell Street, between Middleton and Broughton Streets. Guests will arrive at 6:30 to enjoy a cocktail hour with the first course scheduled to be served at 7:30 pm. This event will be like none other in Orangeburg, picture yourself standing in Russell Street – tables set for dinner, lights strung above you, live music playing, cold drinks on ice and friends all around ready to enjoy a freshly prepared meal.
